BLUE DIAMOND'S PLANS FOR £13M GARDEN CENTRE IN ALNWICK

Plans for a new Blue Diamond garden centre in Alnwick could create 150 jobs and enhance the local area’s food and hospitality reputation

A plan for a garden centre in Alnwick has been revealed that could create 150 jobs across the retail, garden and hospitality departments..

The new establishment would be part of Blue Diamond and is aiming to enhance Alnwick's reputation for retail, food and hospitality, providing more employment opportunities for garden centre caterers.

Blue Diamond currently have 44 centres across the UK. The new development would be part of an expansion north of Chesire.

The garden centre is currently in the pre-planning stages and will be soon open to comments and feedback from the local community.

Overall, the development looks to create an investment of £13m.

"Our ambition is to have the best garden centre in the North Ease based here in Alnwick and we are delighted that Blue Diamond has seleted the town as the location," says Colin Barnes, director of planning and development for Northumberland Estates. "We look forward to working with them to deliver the development which will bring a range of benefits to the town."
