The Country Range Group’s (CRG) success is continuing to attract new members with Waterdene Foodservice the latest independent wholesaler to the join the buying group.

Formed in 1982, Waterdene Foodservice is a family-owned business based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, which uses its fleet of 23 delivery vehicles to supply a vast and varied network of schools, hospitals, pubs, coffee shops, garden centres and other leisure outlets. With over 3,500 product lines and 47 employees, the company makes 1,500 deliveries per week to caterers within a 40-mile radius of Leighton Buzzard.

Waterdene Foodservice officially became a member of the Country Range Group as of 15th November 2023 and will immediately be able to benefit from the Group’s buying power, analysis, data and insights, own brand portfolio, Group publications, and wide-ranging marketing campaigns and promotions.

Martin Ward, chief executive of the Country Range Group (pictured above), says: “It’s been an extremely exciting year for the Group with three new members already on board but welcoming Waterdene Foodservice as the fourth new member of 2023 is the icing on the cake. With over 40 years of experience, it has a dedicated and constantly growing customer base with first rate customer service at the heart of its success. Increasing scale is one of the four pillars of our Group strategy to ensure that we are as competitive as possible in a consolidating marketplace. We’re thrilled Waterdene is joining us on this journey and strengthening our Group further.”

Waterdene Foodservice’s managing director Richard Stimpson adds: We’re delighted to be joining the Country Range Group as its newest member and I’m confident it won’t be long before we start to see the benefits. CRG’s own brand portfolio is highly revered in the industry and the Group’s buying power, analysis, data and insights, plus marketing are second to none. With challenging conditions in the marketplace, membership will strengthen the business and motivate us to improve further. We can’t wait to meet the other members and get started on this next journey.”

This latest announcement follows the exciting news of Arthur David joining the Group earlier this week and Brook Street Foodservice and Harlech Foodservice becoming members in March 2023.

Directors from Waterdene, Arthur David, Brook Street and Harlech will be attending the Country Range Group’s annual ‘An Evening With’ celebration and awards taking place at Abbey Road Studios on the 14th December, hosted by comedian Ed Gamble.
