Haskins’ Kelly makes final of Costa Coffee comp

He recently won the regional heats of Costa Coffee UK’s Barista of the Year competition.

Adam Kelly, a restaurant supervisor at Haskins Snowhill Garden Centre in Crawley, recently won the regional heats of Costa Coffee UK’s Barista of the Year competition. It means he will now compete in the UK and Ireland final.

Kelly initially came top of Haskins’ internal competition, then emerged victorious in the fiercely competitive Costa Coffee franchise heats. He will now compete against the best baristas across Costa Coffee’s UK and Ireland stores for his place in the International Barista of the Year competition.

“I have a passion for coffee, and love to spend my spare time experimenting with different types of coffee beans and methods,” he said. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to take part in the national competition and have the opportunity to demonstrate the skills I have developed as a barista.”

The 24-year-old, who has been a part of the Snowhill team for five years, follows in the footsteps of Haskins’s own Michaela Wilson. She finished third in the 2023 International Costa competition and has been supporting Kelly while he prepares for the next stage of the process.
