Dobbies Garden Centre in Royston has become the sixth store to complete upgrades to the shopping experience as part of the retailer’s national refurbishment programme. Among the changes is an expanded new-look restaurant with an additional 80 seats for customers indoors, and 76 outdoors, taking the total to 344 across the outlet.

General manager Shaun Goodchild said: “It really has been transformed – it feels like a brand-new store! With all the new ranges and all the changes that have been made to the restaurant, which now has double the seating it used to have, it looks really fantastic.”

'Fantastic progress'
David Robinson, chief executive officer of Dobbies, added: “We’ve made fantastic progress with our refurbishment programme, delivering positive results in the five stores so far. We’ll continue to focus on enhancing the customer experience, expanding our ranges and creating more reasons to visit, as we continue with our programme into 2026 and beyond.”

Dobbies’ Brighton, Cadnam, Hungerford, Beaconsfield and Bury St Edmunds stores have already completed their refurbishment, with work on Moreton Park also underway.
